psychogeography walk on saturday 8th march | |||||||||
| My
work, often net-centric, has recurring themes around language, programming,
maps, networks and collaboration. For people vs programming, I will talk
about some of my recent projects and introduce a new piece, 'serendipity',
an online mapping tool, which is currently under development. Inspired by recent work by urban psychogeographers, including Glowlab and Social Fiction, forum participants will be invited to embark on a 'programmed' psychogeographic walk, following a set of instructions written as a pseudo computer program, collecting 'data' - thoughts, images and sounds - along the way. (participants should bring digital still cameras/minidisc recorders for this) On completion, participants will be able to use the first beta version of 'serendipity' to map and document the results of their walk, building a collaborative map of the dérive. |
