Aspiration Storm is a web based project, commissioned by Strange Cargo in 2011, as part of their ACE funded Stretching New Boundaries programme. Exhibited in boredomresearch’s solo exhibition at Georges House Gallery, Folkestone (March 2011).

During the exhibition aspirations amalgamated through the Aspiration Storm website at www.aspirationstorm.net - creating a global oasis of self motivation. In Aspiration Storm’s gallery installation, visitors experienced other's dreams and contemplated their own.

Opportunities to sign up to policies, agreements and schemes designed by others - with their goals in mind not yours - outweighs the opportunities we have to stop, consider and actively agree to pursue our dreams. Aspiration Storm aims to create an oasis of self motivation in the deserts of distraction that bury our desires under mountains of requests for our diminishing grains of time. boredomresearch hope, by using the Aspiration Storm dream manifestation service, you will waste time productively.

This project has been inspired by research showing that making an active commitment to achieving a personal goal dramatically increases your chances of success. If there's something you would really like to achieve, by this time next year, you can submit your aspiration to the storm and formally agree to pursue your dreams. Then, one year from now, you receive an e-mail to confirm your success. During this time your aspirations is displayed for all to see on the website.
